The Lunguda community of Adamawa state call on the Adamawa state government to as a matter of urgency and for peace sake to change the Commissioner of police with immediate effect following what they described as unprofessional taking side of the CP in the crises bedevilling the axis.
The swift call for change of the Police Commissioner follows the scene created at Boshikiri by the Police Commissioner and some of the respective elders of Lunguda chiefdom when the CP visited the embattle areas of Boshikiri-Lafiya few hours after crises.
Eye witness confirmed that when the police commissioner arrived with heavy security, he went and arrest the district head of Dumna and some few elders and parade them on a bare ground beside high way like criminals and when the Executive Chairman of the local government arrived to the scene, he was reported to have been asked to join them on the ground and he vehemently refused.
Abraham Musa who witnessed the scene confirmed that the situation became tensed after inhabitants of Dumna district mobilized and insisted that their district head cannot be humiliated to the seeing without committing any crime, and they were reported to have forced themselves to rescue him which led to arrest of some Lunguda youths whom were released after intervention.
The concerned Lungudas condemned in totality what they opined as a calculative effort by the CP to undermine, humiliate and disgrace both the political and traditional leadership of the Nungurala nation.
They observed further that Lunguda nation has never plan and launch attack on any Waja community throughout the inception of the crises, insisting that attacks on Lunguda communities are been launched from Lafiya, leaving Lungudas with the only option of countering the attacks but no meaningful arrest made since then despite frequent name-calling of the alleged sponsors of the attacks
The questions on the lips of Lunguda race is not far from, why the CP refused to arrest the district head of Lafiya and their elders despite many reports suggested that attacks on Lunguda communities are been mobilized and launched from there, but only to arrest the district head of Dumna in a hurry whom his people only counter the attack as self-defence? Is the CP simply saying that Lunguda communities committed a crime for defending themselves at the wake of their onslaught but those attacking them didn’t commit any crime?
