On the occasion of Easter, the Member representing Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of National Assembly, Hon Gibeon Goroki beseech Christians in his constituency and the country at large to use the special period of celebration of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pray for the nation.
According to the Federal law maker, the country in the recent time has experienced upsurge in insecurity as kidnapping for ransom particular for students has become unprecedented in the annals of the nation.
Hon. Gibeon Goroki said, Easter is the fulcrum of the Christian faith and the fulfilment of the salvation plan by God for humanity. He added that Christ death and resurrection was for the main aim to reconcile humanity to his father, and so we must use it as a trajectory for reflection and National reconciliation.
While reminding Christians about the importance and significance of Christ’s death and resurrection, the law maker said that resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of Christianity that provided final and indelible evidence that Christ was really the son of God and that He had overcome death, and we his children are saved to be partakers of his kingdom thereafter.
Goroki maintained that while reflecting soberly on the sacrificial death and resurrection of Christ in this special festive period, Christians should equally emulate Christ virtues of love, peace and compassion.
