The immediate past Chairman of Madagali Local Government Council of Adamawa, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed has dragged the state Deputy Speaker, Mr Emmanuel Tsamdu to court over 2019 All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Assembly ticket for Madagali Constituency.
Mohammed who sued Tsamdu, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as first, second and third respondents respectively is requesting the court to declare as null and void the replacement of his name with that of Tsamdu by APC as the candidate of 2019 House of Assembly for Madagali constituency.
Mohammed insisted that he is the authentic candidate of the party having emerged the winner of the party primaries held on the November 12 which he alleged Tsamdu did not participate in.
The case came up for mention on Monday before Yola Federal High Court presided over by Justice Abdul-Aziz Anka, who adjourned it to January 10, 2019 for hearing.
Speaking at the mentioning of the case, counsel to Mohammed, Mr A.J Akanmode requested for accelerated hearing of the case.
INEC did not send any representation to the court, while counsel to APC and Tsamdu, Mr Shagnah Pwamaddi did not object to the accelerated hearing.
The presiding judge, Justice Abdul-Azeez Anka then fixed Jan. 10, 2019 for hearing.
