ADAMAWA STATE VICE CHAIRMAN OF SDP DUPED MY TICKET- -PRINCE NUJIR W KIMDE

EMME EMMA GWANAH

Mixed reactions continue to thrill the state house of assembly primaries of Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Guyuk constituency which was held yesterday in MDGs hall in Guyuk local government area.
Though the election kicked off on the guise of free and fair election owing to how it was started in a peaceful atmosphere and money politics was not giving priority.
Space reporters reliably gathered that immediately after the votes of the election counted, the other contender who the polls did not favour alleged that the election was not free and fair which according to him the election is inconclusive.
Speaking with our reporter, Hon. Nujir W Kimde said as far as his concern the primaries election of his constituency is inconclusive, while describing the election as a clear connivance between the state vice chairman of the party and the local government chairman of the party to duped him his ticket in favour of his opponent who is coming from the same ward with the duo.
‘’one week to our election I was told that the state vice chairman of our party and the chairman party of our local government connived to by all cost frustrate my political intention by staging a kangaroo primaries to the favour of my opponent. I called and explain to him what I heard and I told him that the issue should be tabled to the local government excos to verify the veracity of the issue but he claimed that it is not true that I should forget about the issue despite my insistence to know the truth’’
Prince Nujir Kimde maintained that there was a lot of malpractice that transpired even at the point of the election, expatiating that before the election commenced he told the returning officer of the election who is the state vice chairman of the party to start by accrediting voters to ascertain total number of the voters but he refused
‘’before we start the primaries I told the returning officer of the election who is the state vice chairman of the party who also held from the same ward from my opponent but he shut me down that there is no problem, that is why we start and finish our election without accreditation of voters. Also the vice chairman of the state is not supposed to be the returning officer of the election to avoid bias because he is also from our local government and most importantly is from the same ward with my opponent.
And before we start the primaries proper, there was small issue that we had with the delegates then he told us to go and sort them out. Before we resolved the issue I discovered that he went out with the ballot box and the ballot papers which he did not come back until after two hours.
When we finished the elections, we counted the votes and I discovered that there is three vote interval between my votes and my opponent’s own after declaring four of my votes invalid on the ground that my name is not spell proper on the ballot papers forgetting that is not everybody among the delegates go to school.
My delegate and I refused to sign because as far as I am concern, the election is inconclusive and Immediately after the election I went to our party secretariat to officially tender my petition to the state leadership of the party to do justice to the issue which I know the state leadership of our party will never partner with any irregularity that will tore our party into shreds’’
Speaking with space reporters exclusively, a political analyst from the area who pleaded for anonymity said that what happens in SDP primaries is a clear political manoeuvre from various quarters which according to him there was an interest of strong politicians which some are not even members of the party.  He stressed that their interest was to impose Hon. Joel Dikanwa as a political coup of dividing the votes of one strong membership candidate in Chikila ward who his candidature is not favourably dispose to those sharks.
All effort by the space reporters to hear from the other contestant proved abortive, and equally our effort to hear from the state leadership of the party did not avail as the number of the chairman was not connecting.
